These download links go to software publishers and their official distribution routes. This site does not host installers, sell access, or repackage Tor applications. Check the publisher and device requirements on the destination page before downloading.

Windows, macOS, and Linux

Download Tor Browser from Tor Project

Use the stable release for ordinary browsing. The download page selects the appropriate platform and links to installation guidance. Follow the publisher’s current installation instructions; old videos may show different screens.

Android: Tor Browser and Orbot have different jobs

Calling Orbot “the official Tor browser for Android” would confuse two products. Tor Browser for Android is developed by the Tor Project. Orbot is developed by Guardian Project and uses Tor to provide connectivity for other apps. Routing traffic does not automatically give every app Tor Browser’s browser-specific protections.

Orbot’s official page links to Orbot on Google Play, its F-Droid distribution instructions, and its release downloads. Use that publisher page when a store route is unavailable.

iPhone and iPad: Onion Browser and Orbot

There is no official Tor Browser for iOS. The Tor Project recommends Onion Browser, an independently developed Tor-powered browser. Tor’s support documentation explains that iOS platform constraints prevent it from providing the same protections as Tor Browser.

Orbot also has an iOS release: Orbot on the App Store. Follow the current Onion Browser and Orbot instructions for their connection setup; do not assume an old tutorial describes the current relationship between the apps.

Before installing

• Check the publisher’s actual domain, not just a search-result title.
• Prefer the current stable release and keep it updated.
• Use the publisher’s signature-verification instructions when verifying an installer.
• Do not install an unrelated “Hidden Wiki browser” because a directory requires it.
